Poplar tree removal Hartham Leisure Centre.
After an extensive third party survey was carried out East Herts District Council decided that they would have no choice but to remove these landmark trees.
P R Newson Ltd were the successful tenderer and began work in early March 2013.
It was decided that due to the considerable size of these trees the most appropriate method of works would be to section fell them using a mobile crane. After a detailed Method of Works had been drawn up along with a lift plan noting all the underground services etc. Work could commence.
We had to liaise closely with the staff at the centre in order to minimise disruption to their customers and despite having to have to remove a total of 154 tonnes of wood the job went off without a hitch.
All of the resulting timber and chip will be dried, broken down and chipped for use in one of our woodfuel projects. A credit for this was applied at the tender stage making our price extremely attractive to the client.
The job was completed on time and within budget.
